this 3rd week of august begins with 2 injured sprained ankles, and 1 injured upper back.
MRI is coming on wednesday
and ### reservist is coming too
plus if i do go for my shoulder operation it will be another 1 month out plus another 2 months to recover full mobility and whatever.

with so much disruption...having put exams, travelling out of the way i thought i could come back and get right on track.

i hate it
i was aiming initially during march to get to ironman australia in december'08
instead recently my forecast been shifted to ironman japan in june'09

but it's been like this...some years things fall into place and make great progress(2007)
some years it's just shit(2006)
and 2008 has been not so good so far...

but i still believe...and will fight back as soon as i can

okay i can't stand it anymore

i must voice out how ridiculous these events are getting...

these two culprits are an example of the rip off job in broad damn daylight

sports associations are doing

let me illustrate.
event - distance - cost

OSIM - 1.5km swim / 40km cycle / 10km run  = $95-$154 (early - latest)

SAAB Dualthon - 10km run / 40km cycle / 5km run =  $85

i mean!

WHAT THE FUCK PEOPLE!

and the advert for the duathlon says... "
Have you started training for the OSIM Singapore Triathlon? Why not include the SAAB City Duathlon 2008 as part of your training routine and experience part of the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix route!"

so i'm supposed to pay... $85+$95 = $180

for these two events?

hello why would you pay another 85 bucks to TRAINNNNNN

TRAINNING IS FREEEEE AND WILL ALWAYS BE fREEE (not of pain, sweat, cursings, breathlessness)

and if you include this other event... www.singaporesprintseries.com
which bundles a biathlon(swim-run) + duathlon (run-cycle-run) + triathlon (swim-cycle-run)
at half the usual distances mind you.......
for $160
or $60 + $60 + $80...if you sign up ala carte...

i MEAN WHATS WRONG HERE

i keep telling my friends.
you wanna pay 40-50 bucks to run...21km...(Stanchart)
or 42km...(Stanchart)

which is worth it?

furthermore...it is totally FREE if you just get your ass out onto the beach...pull a willing friend...to watch your stuff...
to do the full transition...

or if you transit from pool to bike(at a stadium or friend's condo) to run(leave your thousand plus dollar bike safely locked first please at the condo and never at the stadium)

it's FREEEE

why must we pay such high mad amounts??

why?

i can understand why IRONMAN costs 400+ (depending on local currency)

-stupid singapore HALF-ironman in september is $345-$370-

what is this... TRIATHLON INFLATION?

and o yea...the sundown marathon...
i'm perfectly alright with paying $100-$140

IF you're doing the ultramarathon (84km)

i mean...you NEED the logistical support to do that distance...

and i think that's a fair amount...

in fact this event's pricing is pretty okay. $50 bucks for a full marathon up to $75 if you're late.

so...SUNDOWN is a good example...

although i told my friend..."you can actually just go and run a 42km at night yourself"

and it's FREE

my point? maybe they want the medals and certificate(fucking singapore culture)

i don't race with a 1000 dollar bike...i don't run with the latest equipment or swim in the latest underwear...

my point is...

all this hype...is like people buying BMWs to show...

i think it's just a rip off...

it will continue of course because hey it is fun to see singapore turn into a sports hub...

and WEIRDLY i'll tell you this...have more of such events!

why? because i'm not selfish...if it helps us come into contact with this sport...then that's great...

because there'll be some who will fall in love with it...instead of thinking they're trying to get a good PSLE grade...

but i still feel it's a rip off...

so you'll see me doing my training and actual practices...free(once i get past my exams)

no fake medals fake certs and goodie bags...

but i, me, myself, we all know where we're at...

i love this sport...

but yea i just must voice out...it's damn rip off...

for something i could just wear my suit, lace up my shoes, and get it done any day(after my exams)

and for free...

and yes...at those distances...and most likely more than those stated...

it just fibs me ...

but to all you who DID sign up...enjoy!

it's really fun...but not when the weather turns bad...

FUCK!!!!! hahahaha... the organisers are the problem...i believe you're made of tougher stuff though

2008 was tough. everything about me was under attack. but i kinda think i've come out stronger from it. or just lived through the siege to live another day ahead.

i still want to be on the edge and remain true to the things that are me. and on top of that value the relationships around me in every sort or form.
